We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a busy team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This position will handle a blend of payables, receivables, and payroll-related recordkeeping while helping maintain accurate accounting data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with spreadsheets and accounting software, and able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and assist with timely payment of outstanding obligations.

• Record incoming payments, update customer account activity, and help keep receivable balances current.

• Enter and maintain certified payroll information with a high level of accuracy and attention to deadlines.

• Use Excel to organize financial data, track account activity, and prepare routine reports for review.

• Support year-end documentation needs by assisting with 1099 preparation and related recordkeeping.

• Perform accounting-related data entry and help maintain complete, accurate financial records across assigned projects.

• Assist with special accounting projects and provide administrative support for ongoing finance department priorities.

• Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working in accounting systems.
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to process invoices and maintain organized financial documentation.
• Working knowledge of Excel for tracking, updating, and reviewing accounting information.
• Familiarity with certified payroll entry and 1099 documentation is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
